The Annual Positive Pedalers Russian River Ride: Friday May 3 – Sunday May 5, 2013
The 13th-annual Positive Pedalers Russian River Ride is one of the most anticipated events of the season. This event is brought to you by the North Bay PosPeds Chapter. Open exclusively to PosPeds members, this is a chance to bond with your fellow HIV-positive cyclists and experience the beauty of Northern California. Our host hotel is The Woods, a clothing-optional resort in the charming town of Guerneville, nestled in the redwoods of Sonoma County along the Russian River.

The Ride:
- Day 1: Inland route Sausalito-Guerneville – 72 miles
- Day 2: Tour the Wine Country and Redwoods – 36 miles
- Day 3: Coastal route Guernevill-Sausalito – 71 miles
On Day 1 we’ll meet at Mike’s Bikes in the charming seaside community of Sausalito and head north through beautiful Marin County; we’ll climb some of the area’s most notorious hills and enjoy some of the best cheese in California at the legendary Cheese Factory. As we near our home away from home, Guerneville, CA, we’ll ride through the lush, peaceful forest that surrounds the Russian River. It’s a beautiful and challenging 70+ mile ride. A group dinner will take place at our host hotel, The Woods, which will be home base for the weekend.
Day 2 is a leisurely day in the serene Russian River Valley. Enjoy a lazy 40 mile ride to charming Healdsberg for a picnic lunch in the scenic town square. You can spend the afternoon enjoying The Woods’ clothing-optional pool area or exploring Guerneville’s shops, restaurants and galleries. In the evening we break bread at the annual Russian River Ride banquet.
We will wake up early on Day 3 and return to Sausalito via the breathtaking Tomales Bay (save some room for pastries at the incredible Tomales Bakery). Lunch in Point Reyes is among the weekend’s highlights, and then we head inland and back to Mike’s Bikes for goodbyes! The ride is approximately 70 miles and spectacularly beautiful.
