New Board Members!
ANNUAL CALL FOR BOARD MEMBER APPLICATIONS
Dear PosPeds Member:
On behalf of the Positive Pedalers Board we would like to extend an invitation to our general membership for Board Member Applications. The year 2011 will mark our 16th year of eliminating stigma.
The PosPeds Board is a hard-working Board, with active committees in the areas of Outreach, Membership, Communications, Finance, Merchandise, and a the 501(c)(3) Committee, exploring the potential of PosPeds becoming a non-profit organization. A new member would be expected to bring his/her talents and expertise to the group, and be willing to contribute your time toward meeting our aims and goals.
Our application requirements are very simple all that is required is a ‘Letter of Intent’. Please include your email and phone contact information within the header of the letter. Your letter should at a minimum state your desired to serve on the Board, what expertise and background you would bring, and why you feel you would be an appropriate Board member. Provide prior AIDS bike ride(s) and/or AIDS organization(s) experience. You are welcome to include any information you feel would be appropriate for our selection process.
This call for applicants is open to ALL PosPeds members wherever you live; we encourage applications from members who participate in rides across the States and Canada.
The following is a general timeline of our selection process:
Application Deadline is no later than Wednesday, September 1, 2010
Interviews by the Co-Chairs will occur mid-September, 2010.
The Board will make the final selection of new members at the Thursday, October 14, 2010
meeting.
After this meeting, new Board members will get oriented by the Co-Chairs and asked to select
committees they would like to serve on. Committee Chairs would then orient the new
members on committee work prior to the November Board meeting.
New members’ first Board meeting will be on Thursday, November 11, 2010.
