The 3 Day HIV Russian River Ride is May 4-6

NorCal North Bay Chapter is pleased to invite you to join this fun group of national Positive Pedalers for the 12 plus years annual ride May 4th-6th, 2012 to the Russian River. This year we will be meeting at Sausalito at 8:30AM Friday the 4th, riding out on a stunning 70 plus miles ride to Russian River(Guerneville) where will stay two nights at the The Woods Resort. Please make your reservations early as possible. Saturday we will ride another beautiful 40 plus miles through the wine country to Healdsburg for Lunch. Saturday afternoon is pool/free time. Sunday we will ride back on a gorgeous return by the coast to Sausalito to Mikes bikes where we left our cars. The ride is supported with luggage transport, SAG vehicles.

National Positive Pedalers Board of Directors Applications Due March 15, 2012

New Board Members Wanted!

On behalf of the Positive Pedalers Board, we would like to extend an invitation to our general membership, including our HIV positive members and our supporters, for new board member applications!

The PosPeds Board is a hard-working group with active committees in the areas of Outreach, Membership, Communications, Finance, Merchandise and Organizational Development. The Board will also continue its process of becoming its own non-profit organization. A new member would be expected to bring his/her talents and expertise to the group and be willing to contribute your time toward meeting our aims and goals.
Our application requirements are very simple all that is required is a “Letter of Intent”. Your letter should at a minimum state the following:

* Your email and phone contact information within the header of the letter
* Your desire to serve on the Board
* What expertise and background you would bring to the Board (fundraising experience a plus!)
* Why you feel you would be an appropriate Board member
* Provide prior AIDS bike ride(s) and/or AIDS organization(s) experience

You are welcome to include any information you feel would be appropriate for our selection process. This call for applicants is open to all PosPeds members wherever you live. And this year, we are also seeking to expand our Board representation to include our HIV negative supporters!

If you feel this your time to serve, please submit your applications to the PosPeds Board Co-Chairs, Tom Keep and Grady Allison at tom.keep@pospeds.org and grady.allison@pospeds.org no later than March 15, 2012.

Paul Hulse 2012 Registration is Open!

The annual Paul Hulse Century is a one day scenic 104 mile trip through some of Southern California’s most spectacular orange grove countrysides! The scenery is quite beautiful and the smells from the orange groves will blow your mind! The ride has become one of the premier training ride events for southern California in preparation for ALC & usually a season favorite for most riders. The event is dedicated to Paul Hulse who played a primary role in the development and expansion of Positive Pedalers and their mission to eliminate the stigma of HIV/AIDS through our positive public example.

2012 Positive Pedalers Jersey Design Contest

Have you ever wanted to design the Positive Pedalers jersey? Well, now’s your chance!

This year we are opening up the design to everyone! Whether you are a Pos Ped or a Pos Supporter we want to see your design ideas. All of the designs will be voted on by the Pos Ped board, and the jersey that is picked will serve as the 2012 Pos Ped jersey, to be worn all around the country. All you have to do is come up with an awesome design and submit it to the board.

Submissions will be accepted until January 15th. Please submit all design ideas in a pdf format. Send submissions to Gordon.duvall@pospeds.org. The designer will be notified the first week of February. Remember, the design will be used for rides all across the country so don’t just design for a specific ride.

So there you go! Get your design juices flowing and send us your submissions!

*Please note, all designs will become property of the Positive Pedalers, and changes may be made to the design. Multiple designer may be combined to make one jersey. Colors, symbols and design are all subject to change.

Positive Pedalers Day 2011

Positive Pedalers is once again celebrating Positive Pedalers Day on April 29th by empowering each member to reflect on how much all their efforts have contributed to their local communities, AIDS organizations and HIV/AIDS education across the nation.

This is really a day to celebrate our health and find gratitude that we all live with HIV and give back to our communities by providing HIV/AIDS funding and eliminating stigma of HIV/AIDS in so many ways.

We are an extraordinary group of women and men in every aspect of our lives, so let’s celebrate our PosPeds holiday and embrace the good things that our organization does every day of our lives.
